Frequently Asked Payroll Questions

When is payday?

  • Payday is the Friday following the week worked.
  • To ensure you are paid on time, please submit your timecard to your local Kelly branch at the end of your work week no later than 2:00 pm (Eastern Time) on Monday in order for the Payroll Centre to receive all of your time documents before 2:00 pm (Eastern Time) on Tuesday. Time received in the Payroll Centre after noon (Eastern Time) on Wednesday will not be paid until the following week.
  • Please check to ensure you have completed your timecard in full. Failure to fill out your timecard completely may delay your paycheque.
  • Inclement weather conditions and seasonal mail volumes may delay the delivery of your paycheque. We recommend that you participate in our Direct Deposit Program.

What can I do to ensure timely pay?
One of our highest priorities is paying you quickly and accurately. Our preferred method is to directly deposit your net pay into your bank account. Contact your branch for more information. If you have elected to not utilize our Direct Deposit Program, a payroll cheque will be mailed to you each week, though this method is now considered an exception. If you have elected to receive a cheque, it is necessary to get your timecard submitted early as we have no control over Canada Post services and delivery time.

How do I check to see if I qualify for Holiday/Statutory Pay?
Kelly follows all provincial Statutory Holiday Pay qualification rules and calculations. For a list of recognized holidays, please refer to this Holiday Pay page or contact the Payroll Support Hotline by calling 1-866-KELLY4U (1-866-535-5948) for more information.

How can I ensure my personal information is correct?
Review your payroll cheque/paystub weekly. Your payroll cheque/paystub will show your withholdings status, your name and address, hourly rate of pay, hours worked, along with other important data. If you note an error, please check with your branch immediately.
